Are you dealing with a borer problem in your home?
Borer can be extremely destructive and cause major damage to any untreated timber and wooden furniture in your home! This is because borer lay their eggs in wood, and then the larvae eat their way out of the wood before emerging as an adult.
Here at Essential Pest Control, we offer our professional pest control services all throughout the South Island, and our services extend to borer control for all species of borer.
Darryl will inspect the infestation on your property before coming up with a treatment plan that includes the use of a natural insecticide. This insecticide aims at preventing reinfestation and creating a borer free environment.
Darryl has over 32 years of experience in controlling borer in New Zealand and has Master Pest Control Registration.
What are Borer?
Borer are wood-boring insects. In New Zealand, there are several different types of borer. These insects are also known as woodworm or Bora.
Adult females can lay as many as 100 eggs in old flight holes or even in bare timber. The eggs are expected to hatch around 4 weeks after being laid, and then the larvae start boring through the holes. The adults exit the timber by boring their way through to the timber exterior to start their life cycle again.
